Responsible Care (RC) activities are voluntarily undertaken by companies handling chemicals. The aim of RC activities is to promote environmental, safety, and health interests throughout the product lifecycle, from development through disposal. RC activities are pursued in accordance with the seven Codes of Responsible Care (RC codes), which specify basic implementation items.
The RC codes were developed based on the policies of the Japan Chemical Industry Association (JCIA) and numerous chemical companies pursue RC activities based on the RC codes.
Undertaking activities and initiatives based on the RC codes promotes the overall safe management of chemicals, with the ultimate goals of promoting human safety and health, and protection of the environment.
