Chemicals Division

In the Industrial Chemicals category, sales increased from the previous year, mainly because of increases in sales of caustic soda and alcoholate.
In the Dye Stuff Chemicals category, sales dropped year-on-year because of continued tough competition.
Sales of the feed additive Methionine fell because of a decline in sales volume resulting from a change in the production system brought about by structural reform, despite an increase in sales prices following a recovery in market conditions.
In the Specialty Chemicals Products category, sales of “NISSO PB” and transparent conductive glass increased, but sales of special ISOCYANATE decreased. As a result, sales remained unchanged from the previous year.
As for the Eco-business category, exports of the water treatment agent “NISSO HI-CHLON” increased, while sales of the slime remover decreased. As a result, sales in this category were the same as sales in the previous year.
In the Pharmaceuticals and Pharmaceutical Intermediates category, sales of the basic antibiotic FAROPENEM-Sodium declined, but sales of the pharmaceutical intermediate AOSA and the pharmaceutical additive HPC increased. As a result, sales in this category remained unchanged from the previous year.



Agro Products Division

Domestically, sales in this category decreased from the previous year, as sales of the fungicide “TOPSIN-M” and the insecticide “KOTETSU” declined owing to unseasonable weather in early spring, fewer outbreaks of pests and the introduction of the positive list system in response to the revision of the Food Sanitation Law.
Although exports of the herbicides “NABU” and “HOENEST” decreased because of the influence of an increase in acreage of genetically modified soybean, sales in this category increased from the previous year because of a rise in sales of the “TOPSIN-M” and the insecticide “MOSPILAN” and the popularization of a new fungicide “PANCHO.”
Sales of fungicides for industrial use decreased from the previous year because of a fall in exports of mildewcide.”



Transportation, Warehousing, Construction, Non-Ferrous Metals and others

Sales in the Transportation and Warehousing category and the Construction category decreased from the previous year. Sales in the Non-ferrous Metals and Others category increased from the previous year thanks to higher sales of non-ferrous metals resulting from sharp rises in zinc quotations.
