Chemicals Division

In the Industrial Chemicals category, sales decreased from the previous year, due mainly to a decline in sales volume of potassium carbonate, despite an increase in sales of caustic soda, hydrochloric acid and caustic potash.
As for the Dye Stuff Chemicals category, sales dropped because of intensified competition in the domestic market year-on-year.
Sales of the feed additive Methionine fell, affected by tough competition from both domestic and overseas markets, and by the effects of the avian flu outbreak.
Sales in the Specialty Chemicals Products category, sales for special ISOCYANATE and the semiconductor photo-resist material “VP-POLYMER” increased, but sales for the photocatalyst “BISTRATOR” decreased. As a result, sales were the same as previous year.
As for Eco-business category, exports of water treatment agents “NISSO HI-CHLON” increased, while sales of the slime remover, water treatment agents “NISSO TCCA-90” decreased. As a result, sales in this category decreased from the previous year.
As for the Pharmaceuticals and Pharmaceutical Intermediates category, sales increased from the previous year thanks primarily to a rise in sales of base antibiotics FAROPENEM-Sodium, pharmaceutical intermediates AOSA and pharmaceutical additives HPC.

Agro Products Division

Domestically, although sales of the insecticides “MOSPILAN” and “KOTETSU” and the fungicide “TOPSIN-M” decreased as there were fewer outbreaks of pests in general, sales in this category increased overall, mainly because we added a company to our consolidated subsidiaries.
Sales of biocides declined from the previous year amid heightened competition.
As for the exports, although exports of the acaricide “NISSORUN” and the insecticide “MOSPILAN” decreased, overall sales in this category increased from the previous year due to a rise in sales of the “TOPSIN-M” and the launch of a new fungicide “PANCHO.”

Transportation, Warehousing, Construction, Non-Ferrous Metals and others

Sales for the Transportation and Warehousing category were the same as the previous year. The Construction category declined from the previous year. Moreover in the Non-ferrous Metals and Others category, both sales in the environmental development and non-ferrous metals grew from the previous year.
